The Western Shore and En Gev
Highway 87 took us across the top of the lake and we picked up Rte. 92 for the drive along the Western shore, passing through the Bethsaida valley. Our lunch stop was at En Gev, a functioning kibbutz with a dining area geared mostly to tour buses. We sat out on the deck overlooking the Sea of Galillee and Tiberias in the distance. Before the Six Day War, this was Jordan as the Jordan River was the border. The meal was fine, although not fancy.
The dining area at Kibbutz En Gev, with Lily, and a view of the working end of the kibbutz from the highway.
